World Brain Day: Corfu's gift to your brain
On July 22, we celebrate World Brain Day, as established by the World Federation of Neurology. With the theme “Brain Health for All Ages,” this day reminds us how important it is to care for the most complex and sensitive organ of our body: the brain.
Travel and mental well-being
Travel is one of the best gifts we can offer our brain. The change of scenery, new experiences, the emotions sparked by exploration, relaxation, and the sense of freedom we feel when stepping away from routine all have a proven positive effect on our mental and cognitive health. Research shows that travel reduces stress levels, improves concentration, and enhances creativity.
Corfu, natural nourishment for the mind
Corfu is a destination that awakens all the senses. The Old Town with its narrow alleyways and distinctive architecture, the olive groves stretching across hills and valleys, the pristine beaches, the aromas and flavors of the local cuisine, the music and the people—together they create a unique and stimulating environment for every visitor.
If you want to take care of your mind:
-
Take a slow stroll through Spianada Square or along the trails of the Corfiot countryside.
-
Enjoy a morning swim at one of Corfu’s enchanting beaches.
-
Sip a coffee in the heart of the Old Town and observe the rhythm of local life.
-
Visit one—or more—of the island’s museums and cultural institutions, which are ready to challenge your thinking and sharpen your perception.
-
Join a yoga or meditation retreat at one of Corfu’s many welcoming wellness centers.
A day dedicated to our best self
On this World Brain Day, let’s do something that truly makes us feel well. Let’s give our mind the space to relax, observe, feel, and recharge. And what better place to do that than Corfu?
