VMuseum Corfu
V Museum is the first digital and interactive museum in Corfu
An innovative initiative that aspires to showcase the rich cultural and historical heritage of our island in modern and engaging ways.
Our museum combines the power of technology with the magic of history, offering visitors unique experiences:
- Projection Room:
With a 20-minute 3D animation film, you’ll feel how Corfu was born—from Poseidon, the Phaeacians, and Odysseus. Discover how the island survived civil wars, naval battles, and foreign dominations to become what it is today: a land of hospitality and blessing.
The cinema room features 30 comfortable recliner seats to ensure a relaxing viewing experience, a personalized dubbing system in 12 languages, and of course, 3D glasses!
- Historical Holograms:
The interactive hologram allows you to see a person or an object appear in front of you in life-size, as if it were truly present. This advanced technology makes the experience more vivid and impressive, bringing tradition and history to life in a contemporary storytelling format.
- Interactive Floor Game:
Specifically designed to promote our cultural and folkloric heritage, this experience attracts both children and adults in an exciting learning journey.
How many botides (traditional clay pots) can you smash in one minute?
- Life-size Representation of Odysseus’ Statue:
Did you know that the island of the Phaeacians is Corfu? You’ll discover even more about Odysseus’ journey through the 65-inch interactive screen, where his trireme sails before your eyes, revealing the stormy path to Ithaca.
- Life-size Representation of Cannons:
Our museum proudly presents the documentary “The Cannons and Fortifications of Corfu,” a production dedicated to the history of the island’s fortifications and the role cannons played in its defense.
Both the surviving cannons of the island and the faithful replicas displayed in our museum are featured, offering an authentic glimpse into the past.
This documentary is a unique opportunity for visitors and history enthusiasts to understand the strategic importance of Corfu and to appreciate the significance of preserving these historical artifacts.
- A truly giant botis (clay pot) rotates 360 degrees in front of you, ready for the perfect photo!
Next to it, a captivating documentary on Corfu’s famous Easter tradition with the botides is screened, while you admire its massive size and the images painted on it by local artists.
