Greetings from Mayor Of Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands

Dear Friends,

Dear Visitors,

It’s with great pleasure that I invite you to visit Corfu, a place with special luminosity and unique identity.

Corfu is one of the most charming destinations in both Greece and Europe, at the crossroad between the West and the East; an area of special natural beauty and with a strong cultural imprint; an island of incomparable natural beauty and of long tradition.

The safe environment, the numerous archaeological and historical sites, the mild climate, as well as the easy access by the sea and by the air, have turned Corfu into a favorite summer destination. The marvelous corfiot cuisine and the unique local products promise to offer a wonderful culinary experience while the possibilities for sports facilities are undoubtedly impressive and satisfy even the most demanding lovers of this latter genre.

However, no matter which season you may visit Corfu, you will be impressed by: the Old City, which is a World Heritage Site and is included in the UNESCO List; its fortifications, monuments and museums; its coastal and Mediterranean villages as well as its traditional settlements; the music that pours out from everywhere and the island’s rich cultural life.

Extrovert, imaginative, creative and multicultural, Corfu - with obvious the signs of the civilizations with which she came in touch - is waiting its visitors in order to reveal to them the hidden treasures and the secrets so that they eavesdrop its messages to the fullest.

I am inviting you to discover those treasures, to indulge in the charms of the island and to enjoy it with all your senses. It’s certain that it will offer you unforgettable moments and experiences.

The Mayor of Central Corfu and  Diapontian
